FAQ

I have a collection of treasures that have deteriorated quite badly. Can I bring them to HCC to have them restored or treated?

Welcome to the New HCC Website!

Colleagues and friends, welcome to the newly revamped Heritage Conservation Centre website! As you can see, we have a whole new look and and brand new function – this very blog - which you will soon see populated by posts about the latest happenings, projects and news from the conservation and collections management “wing” of the National Heritage Board. We hope that this easy-to-post format will enable us to share information on our work more easily and in a more up-to-date manner. Not to mention a little less academically as well!

Apart from this blog, do check out the “Research” section which is also new. We will be sharing articles and reports done in-house under the Research section. Currently we have an article on the conservation of a portrait of Tan Kim Seng, which is on display at The Peranakan Museum on Armenian Street. We will soon be uploading abstracts of other papers which our colleagues here in HCC have recently shared at conferences overseas.

One thing people like to know is how the work we do here at HCC supports the exhibitions that go on in our sister museums. Well, under the “Highlights” section, we will update links to the various shows which we are currently supporting.
